Meet Marigolde.

We are Roshni Kavate and Rebecca Servoss, two nurses who created Marigolde to highlight the warmth and nourishment inherent in a culturally rooted grief journey. As nurses and birth workers, we have walked alongside families navigating the darkest times of their lives. Loss and grief are profound transformations in a person’s life, yet they are often met with silence, a lack of meaningful support, and boring platitudes.

While witnessing the grief journeys of our patients and their families, we were met not only with sadness and heartbreak, but with moments of beauty and joy, intimate connection, faith, and resilience. As nurses, we have had the unique and honored privilege of witnessing unfathomable transformation in people as they allow themselves to be vulnerable enough to be witnessed in their grief.

We created Marigolde to address the complicated and intricate ways that grief settles into our lives. Through storytelling, building ritual, and grieving through the senses, we are building a new paradigm for grief support, built on hope, joy, and the strength of the human spirit.

At Marigolde, we grieve boldly, love tenderly, and celebrate the blooming, visceral transformation that unfolds in grieving people. We hold, celebrate, and honor the spectrum of life’s experiences.
